My experiences as a clinician and researcher reciprocally influence my approach as an educator. My pedagogy emphasizes students' empowerment as agents in their own education. To this end, I prioritize students gathering information, problem-solving, and constructing learning schemas relevant to their life, interests, and goals. When students encounter gaps in their understanding, I serve as a consultant and guide, rather than an expert providing answer. This collaborative learning process is rooted in a desire to know students as individuals and encourages them to develop and apply their learning throughout all aspects of their life.
